WHAT IS BARELY BALANCED?
I didn’t create A Well-Built Life because I had life perfectly figured out. Quite the opposite.
I spent years caring for other people, working as a nurse, raising a family, saying yes, pushing through, and convincing myself I could handle just a little bit more. Until my body told me, in a pretty ugly way, that I couldn’t.
That experience changed the way I think about health, stress, movement, rest, and what it actually means to take care of ourselves.
A Well-Built Life and now Barely Balanced grew from what I learned along the way.
This Practice Library is a collection of the things I actually use in my own life: yoga, restorative practices, breathwork, mindfulness, and simple ways to move and regulate when life is full and you don’t have an hour, a perfect morning routine, or a particularly quiet brain. Some practices are five minutes.
Some are longer. Some are designed especially for nurses and caregivers. And none require you to have it all together before you begin.
Because I don’t think the goal is to become perfectly balanced. I think it’s learning to notice when you’re tipping, know what helps, and find your way back—again and again.
Welcome to A Well-Built Life. And welcome to Barely Balanced.
