AIR stands for Acknowledge, Interrupt, Regulate, a simple framework for those moments when you notice stress building and need a way to pause and respond. I

n this short introduction, I explain each part of AIR and share simple ways you might use it in real life. A

cknowledge what you’re experiencing without judgment. I

nterrupt the automatic stress response by creating a brief pause.

Regulate with something that supports what you need in that moment—whether that’s breath, movement, cool water, stepping outside, or another simple strategy that helps you reconnect with your body.

AIR isn’t about eliminating stress, and it isn’t a replacement for the practices that help us build resilience over time. It’s a tool for right now, in the middle of a shift, after a difficult interaction, sitting in your car, or any moment when you recognize that you need to interrupt the pattern and create a little space.

Throughout this library, we’ll explore longer practices that support movement, recovery, mindfulness, and resilience.
